Recycling Center

  • We accept most types of batteries here as well.
  • There is a steel trailer for scrap metal. This may include aerosol cans if punctured first. Oil filter drum is by steel trailer and there is an oil tank for used oil.
  • The recycling bin of tin, plastic and clear glass accepts most washed plastics and clear glass. We take plastics #1-#5, and #7. You may crush any plastics and tin cans. Saves room at home and in the bin! This bin doesn’t accept window glass, motor oil or anti freeze containers, only rinsed vegetable oil jugs. No plant containers, aerosol cans or unmarked plastics, please.
  • We have a separate dumpster for colored glass.
  • We accept and appreciate the 5 cent returnable, including all glass and cans in a separate bin. This money goes toward land acquisition in Mitchell County

  • Any resident of Mitchell County can use this facility for yard waste and appliance drop off. Only rural residents can bring trash and recycling materials.
  • The hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday 8-12, 1-5 for
    summer hours. Winter hours [Dec.-April], are Wednesday through Saturday.
  • Fees include a gate fee of $3, appliance $15, yard waste $3, as
    well as a no tarp fee of $20.
  • Appliances that we accept are washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, water heaters, and water softeners.
  • We do not take furniture, lumber, mattresses, box springs,
    televisions, computer monitors, fluorescent lights, or the new led lights.
  • The city of Osage has a program where Osage residents can dump
    yard waste by signing the Osage notebook. The brush pile accepts 2″ limbs or smaller. No lumber or debris. The compost pile is for grass, leaves, sod, and some dirt. We do let people who want wood chips to take what they need for free.
