Where the past comes ALIVE!
The Cedar River Rendezvous is a celebration of the rich history of this area. Throughout the day, students and visitors will experience that history through hands on activities and way-of-life demonstrations like: 1800’s fur-traders encapment, shooting demonstrations, blacksmithing, period music, historical games, and much more!
This event is FREE and open to the public.
Open hours are 9 AM – 4 PM Friday & Saturday
Sunday 9 AM – 2 PM
Friday, September 20th – Education Day (open to area schools, homeschools, and families)
Saturday, September 21st – Public Day!
Open to the public from 9-4

– Historic/Pioneer games
– Washington Warriors 4-H Food Stand
– Fur-Traders/Historic Re-enactors Encampment
– Historic Demonstrations like blacksmithing, mountain man life
– Tomahawk and/or knife throwing
– Cannon/blackpowder demonstrations
– Archery (9-11AM & 2-4PM)
– .22 & Trap Shooting (9-11AM & 2-4PM)
– Kid’s Candy Cannon (11AM & 2PM)
– Gary Froiland’s “One Man Band” (11:30AM, 1:30PM, 3:30PM)
– MN Captain Jack Sparrow (show/lesson at 10:30AM & 2:30PM)
Sunday, September 22nd – Rendezvous Camp Day – Open to the public.
Gary Froiland’s “One Man Band” will be holding a church service at 9:00.
No scheduled public shooting events. Instead, the Fur-traders/Rendezvous encampment will be participating in historical competitions, and some demonstrations may be taking place. Come out and watch them “strutt their stuff”!

Gary Froiland’s “One Man Band” will have performances at 11AM & 1PM.
This event is made possible by generous sponsors and donors to the Mitchell County Environmental Education Foundation, whose mission is to “create public awareness, promote responsible stewardship, and expand support for the conservation of our natural resources and cultural heritage.” The MCEEF provides environmental education program supplies, youth camp opportunities, educational Scholarships, and grant writing/financial support for the renovation of the Milton R. Owen Nature Center’s educational exhibits.
