Let’s play in the prairie and learn more about “Where the Wildflowers Grow” during this two-day nature camp! Mitchell County Naturalist Chelsea Ewen Rowcliffe and Science Teacher Lora Hargens are teaming up to offer unique WILDflower experiences for students entering 5th-8th grades (or equivalent ages). This camp will focus on the prairie habitats of Mitchell County – specifically it’s beautiful WILDFLOWERS! Activities will include exploring plant parts and pollination, wildflower identification, flower pressing, natural watercolors, dyes, & painting, sun printing, beneficial pollinator projects, edible flowers, and much more!
For both days, students will need to bring a lunch, refillable water bottle, sunscreen, and wear weather appropriate clothing (we may get messy, so clothes that can get wet/dirty, close-toed shoes, hat/sunglasses, sweatshirt, bug spray, etc.) All other snacks and educational materials will be provided.
Space is limited to 20, so register soon! Registration closes June 15th.
$20/student.
